The Tuscaloosa News - 8/14/2018

Aug. 13--A musical group that plays classic rock songs will perform Saturday in Tuscaloosa at the Alabama Veterans Reunion.

The band 4G, which has performed locally at Band of Brothers Brewing Co. and Live at the Plaza, will be part of the entertainment lineup for the fifth annual event.

"Getting to book 4G for the (Alabama) Veterans Reunion is so exciting," said Jasmine Rainey the director of tourism development for Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports. "Their classic rock sound is going to fit in perfectly with the atmosphere we are going for this year at the reunion."

The free, picnic-style event will also feature the 151st Army band, a kids zone with inflatable bounce houses along with free food and beverages from Crimson Catering and Buffalo Rock. The Alabama Veterans Reunion will also have vendors on site that provide resources for veterans and their families.

The event will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road. A short program will recognize select veterans for their service to the country and the Tuscaloosa community.

According to a news release, Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports' goal is to produce a statewide, veterans' and family reunion to honor those from Alabama who have served their country. The event is designed to provide a memorable day for veterans, showcasing appreciation and gratitude for those who have represented Alabama during their military service.
