Veterans Food Drive to benefit Veterans Food Bank

Record-Herald - 9/18/2017

More than 140,000 veterans go hungry in Ohio each year. These veterans rely on food pantries and meal services to feed themselves and their families in times of need.

Military Veterans Resource Center’s Veterans Food Bank is hosting its annual Veterans Food Drive now through Nov. 30.

The Veterans Food Drive is a volunteer effort to gather canned and non-perishable items to fill the Veterans Food Bank which provides food to veterans who are struggling to provide for themselves and their families during periods of unemployment or career transition.

Military Veterans Resource Center will have drop-off locations throughout the state and in each of its four resource centers in Columbus, Chillicothe, Dayton and Hamilton. Acceptable items include canned and boxed items, as well as any other shelf-stable products. To find a drop-off location near you, contact MVRC at 614-230-0662 or visit www.milvetsrc.org.

Military Veterans Resource Center helps veterans develop self-reliance and independence by providing access to the resources they need to successfully manage life transitions. MVRC is based in Columbus and operates four centers throughout Ohio.
